Georgetown County Fiscal Year 2014 Budget Increase Effects

Why were there no residents present at the public hearing for the $65.193 million dollar budget for the Georgetown County 2014 Fiscal year?

Ok - So I have been a resident of Georgetown County for 7 years now, and this is a first. The residents of Georgetown County have always been active when it comes to budget issues, community issues, political issues, really anything that would affect the Waccamaw Neck. So why was this budget approved and the only representatives of the community there were the media? Very strange indeed.

What makes Pawleys Island so special?  Ask the National Geographic - which added Pawleys Island to the list of Best Summer Trips 2012, among other great places throughout the world.   There is a great write up in The Sun News [August 5, 2012], which summarizes the charm of Pawleys Island.  It mentions that Pawleys offers an upscale yet barefoot lifestyle.  I thought that was a good way of describing not only vacation on the island, but a kind of unique lifestyle indiginous to the area.  Where else can you decide you want to go crabbing, fishing, meet up with friends at the marina, and then head to the beach - All in less that 10 minutes from each other?
